Knitting
Simple Knit and Purl Patterns
Prererquisite: for people with some basic knitting experience. Learn how much fun it is to work with fancy stitch patterns made with simple stitches! Swatches containing these distinctive knit/purl patterns will be worked in class providing accurate samples for future projects. These simple patterns can morph and create unique ideas! Bring Size 6 or 7 needles and light-color worsted-weight yarn to class. Material cost is $2 payable to instructor at class. Taught by Lizabeth Doty.

Knitting for Beginners
Now’s the time to start knitting those holiday gift items! Are you looking for ways to have a great gift-giving season but not go into debt? It’s time to start knitting! This age-old art benefits mind, body, and soul. Keep your mind sharp by learning a new skill, keep your fingers nimble by keeping them moving, and experience the joy of giving a gift which is the fruit of your labor. This is a class for beginners. The participant will learn the basic stitches
and develop skills in maintaining an even tension in the piece. The instructor will provide practice needles and practice yarn, for a small materials fee, until the participant determines a project. After the selection of project, the participant will purchase the necessary supplies. Projects have included knitting a scarf, sweater, blanket, and handbag. Class size limited. Taught by Lizabeth Doty, a
professional educator for over 35 years, has taught knitting to students of all
ages. She is a former teacher.

Crochet
Crochet 101 and Beyond
Do you look at a crochet book or pattern and wonder what language in which it is written? Learn the language and terms of crochet as well as many stitches, techniques ideas for projects. Taking one step at a time from the very beginning will help you learn in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. You will learn that the popularity of crochet is quickly catching up with knitting. Bring some scrap yarn and appropriate sized crochet hook to the first class. Taught by Joanne Brown. Joanne Brown has taught quilting, crochet, knitting, and sewing in several venues in this area for many years.

Needlepoint
Introduction to Needlepoint
Half-cross, basketweave, continental; what are they? They are the basic stitches you will learn in just four weeks to send you on your way to almost any project. Instructor will provide a small piece of canvas, the yarn and needle to complete a small project that could end up as a coaster, key ring or small picture. All you need to bring is a small pair of scissors, and curiosity. Taught by Joanne Brown. Joanne Brown has taught quilting, crochet, knitting, and sewing in several venues in this area for many years.
