Pilates 101 with Frances Goulart
~ Weights Optional
Weak Abdominals? Aching back? Tight muscles? Try this unique and mind-body approach to strengthening your back and abdominals and improving overall flexibility in a matter of weeks. No prior experience needed. Beginners (and more experienced students) welcome. Please bring a thick mat to class. Optional weights: if you want to enhance your workout and burn a few more calories, feel free to bring a set of 1 or 2 pound weights. All exercises can be done with or without weights and Fran will show you how. Taught by Frances Goulart. Frances Sheridan Goulart is is a certified yoga, pilates and yoga-lates instructor who has been teaching in Ridgefield and throughout Fairfield County for over a decade. She is also a certified clinical nutritionist and author of the newly released Super Immunity Foods (McGraw Hill) and Super Healing Foods (Prentice Hall). No class 10/11; 11/22 or 24.

Abs of Steel - A Pilates Based Workout with Pat Anikewich
A core and abdominal workout to strengthen and tighten abs, waist, lower back, and glutes. These moves promote bone density and improve muscular endurance and body alignment! Please bring your own mat, towel, and water bottle. Teacher will supply equipment. Taught by Pat Anikewich. Patricia Anikewich has made physical fitness the pinnacle of her life. As a fitness buff and marathon runner, she advocates a healthy lifestyle. Patricia holds many group exercise certifications and teaches at many Westchester and Connecticut fitness centers.

Yogilates is a unique fusion of yoga and pilates for total body fitness. Develop a stronger more flexible body, longer leaner muscles and toned abs. Improves the strength of the back and the health of the joints. Perfect for complete beginners or veterans. Most of the stretches will be done on the floor, please bring a thick mat, yoga block, and a blanket. Super Stretch-lates with Frances Goulart ~ Morning & Evening
Flatten your abs, strengthen your back and get more flexible in this fusion class that combines the most effective stretching exercises with the best pilates moves. Easy and effective stretching exercises for each one of the body’s 600 plus muscles starting with the forehead and ending with each of the five toes. Learn how to strengthen and lengthen the muscles in your torso, legs, lower back, shoulders and chest. A stretched out body is less prone to injury, protected against stress and insomnia. Start to develop a longer stronger and looser body in weeks. Open to all ages, all fitness levels. Modifications offered for beginners. Bring a mat and light weights (optional). Stretch with Elin Waterston ~ (Morning and Evening)
Stretching can improve athletic performance, decrease the risk of injury, reduce tightness, improve posture and relieve stress. In this class we use a series of deep stretches, targeting major muscle groups, to increase flexibility, lengthen and strengthen muscles and develop healthy body alignment and awareness. Elin Waterston is a life long dancer and has studied ballet, jazz, lyrical and ballroom. She is Zumba certified and teaches Zumba and Cardio-Stretch Circuit at studios in Westport and Westchester as well.

20-20-20 A Complete Workout!
Get a complete workout in 60 minutes! This class will consist of 20 minutes of low impact cardio, 20 minutes of strength training (utilizing Bands), and 20 minutes of stretch. Cardio Conditioning with Pat Anikewich
Get into shape with this cardio and strength workout. Great for all levels of participants. Single cardio routines (no jumping required) are combined with strength training (bands are provided) and stretching. Ideal for both the newcomer and seasoned exerciser. The Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is a method for easing back pain, improving posture and increasing coordination. Through gentle hands-on guidance, discussion and observation, students learn about stressful habit patterns and how to change them. It helps eliminate repetitive strain injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, tempomandibular joint syndrome, sciatica, arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, asthma, back pain, or pain in other areas. It also teaches participants to maintain calm in times of stress and anxiety and to find a balance between being sleepy and hyper, as well as to increase awareness in daily life, connect with oneself and others and to complement a practice of Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, meditation, etc. Taught by Susan Pfeffer. • Susan Pfeffer took her first Alexander Technique class out of curiosity and soon discovered that she was able to move out of a habitual slouch, eliminate tempomandibular joint disorder and become stronger overall. She is a graduate of The American Center for the Alexander Technique, a member of the American Society for the Alexander Technique. She has taught group and private classes at universities and various organizations in the U.S. and abroad.
